A S Jessup-Bould:

Waste Water Treatment Experience

Between 1992 and 2002 I have contributed to a range of waste water treatment processes. Some were biological processes for industrial wastes from the coke production and landfill industries others were for municipal sewage processing. I have also covered chemical effluent treatment of alkali and acid stream arising from flue gas scrubbing processes. This included the precipitation of metals dissolved in the acid liquors.

Coke works and landfill leachate applications used activated sludge processes to treat liquors that were high in ammonia levels and contained other undesirable contaminants such as cyanides. I did these projects whilst working with OSC Process Engineering Limited (formerly Otto Simon-Carves).

Municipal applications were both activated sludge using BCRA (British Carbonisation Research Association) technology whilst with OSC and biological filtration whilst working with Earth Tech Engineering Limited.

Whilst working at Earth Tech I became deeply involved in hazardous area classification methods for use in sewage works.

I have worked as a process engineer at various levels of involvement on a number of projects some of which are shown below. The projects are listed in reverse chronological order.
